The new Town Hall of Meruelo in Cantabria

The construction of the new Town Hall is the first phase of a complex project to renovate the center of Meruelo.

Work of the cantabrian architect Alberto Montes from MMIT architects, the city stands out as unusual in its proposal, closer to a modern art museum to nondescript office buildings or replicas of traditional architecture that often serve as a reference for these official buildings.

This building will be responsible for defining the public use of space, welcoming for future new construction and rehabilitation, integrated with the environment.

The objectives of the firm MMIT architects were to get a unitary, singular and quality. To do so, has created a strong and solid volume, with a rugged, where the orientation, light and full-empty relation, become protagonists.
