The building is built by the parameters set as the winner of a design competition in 2008 for the redevelopment of the Malecon stadium in the industrial city of Torrelavega (Cantabria).

The action contemplated the demolition of the old facilities maintaining the pitch and keeping the light towers that were placed in 2005.
